Local produce and lively discussion in rural Kent
On a bright June morning, around forty guests joined us for another Networking With a Difference event — this time at the beautiful Frasers of Egerton, an eco-friendly wedding and events venue set within a working Kent farm. The sun shone over the countryside as guests arrived through the barn area, where our team greeted them, checked them in, and handed out name badges.
From there, the event opened onto Frasers’ charming terrace and marquee, providing the perfect relaxed setting for guests to mingle, chat, and enjoy the fresh country air. Teas, coffees and juices flowed as conversations quickly gathered pace, setting the tone for a lively and friendly morning.
Inspiring Talks and Fresh Perspectives
After some initial networking, guests took their seats for short, informal talks from our Managing Director, Nick McGowan, and Lisa Fraser of Frasers. With short presentations as backdrops, Nick spoke about the latest developments in the business, thanked our valued partners and guests, and gave a glimpse into upcoming events.
Lisa then shared Frasers’ story and ethos — their commitment to sustainability, use of locally sourced and homegrown produce, and their dedication to running an eco-friendly venue that reflects the best of Kentish hospitality. Her talk, and the setting itself, truly embodied the spirit of local collaboration and community that our events aim to foster.
A Feast of Flavour and Conversation
The morning’s buffet was a highlight in itself — a beautiful spread of locally sourced, sustainable dishes, much of which was produced right there on the farm. The presentation was stunning and the flavours spoke for themselves. Some guests took a seat to enjoy their food, while others continued networking over their plates, creating a relaxed and social atmosphere throughout.
Chapel Down wines were available all morning, perfectly complementing the seasonal dishes and the sunny, summery feel of the event. It was a morning full of smiles, introductions, and conversations that carried easily through the bright, open spaces of Frasers’ countryside setting..
Thanks & Highlights
As the event drew to a close, guests continued chatting and exploring the venue’s grounds, clearly enjoying both the hospitality and the opportunity to connect in such a picturesque environment.
Our sincere thanks go to Frasers of Egerton for hosting us so warmly, to Lisa Fraser for her inspiring and insightful talk, and to Jo James for her wonderful hospitality throughout the morning. We’d also like to thank Chapel Down for providing the excellent wines that complemented the occasion so well. And of course, a big thank you to all our guests for joining us and making the event such a memorable success.
