Welcome To Balfour
On Thursday 10th September, Networking With A Difference returned to Balfour Winery for an evening of wine, food and good company in the heart of the Kent countryside. Around 25 guests from a wide variety of industries joined us from 6pm to 8.30pm, enjoying the relaxed and informal style of networking that has become such an important part of our events.
The evening began with open networking, giving guests plenty of time to catch up with familiar faces, make new introductions and enjoy the surroundings at Balfour Winery. Nick McGowan of What’s On In Kent welcomed everyone and spoke about What’s On In Kent and Networking With A Difference, before handing over to Barry from Balfour Winery. Barry gave guests an introduction to Balfour and the work that goes on at the winery, as well as sharing details of their Christmas nights and what visitors can look forward to during the festive season.
Wine Tasting
Of course, no evening at Balfour Winery would be complete without the opportunity to sample some of its wines.
Guests who had chosen the wine tasting upgrade were guided through a tasting of three different wines by Barry, who shared his knowledge and gave everyone the chance to learn a little more about what they were drinking.
As well as wines, Balfour provided charcuterie for our guests, making for a relaxed combination of good food and wine while conversations continued throughout the evening.
A Walk Among The Vines
Guests also had the opportunity to step outside for a short walk around the vineyard.
Although September meant the evening drew in quickly, the weather thankfully stayed dry, allowing everyone to spend some time among the vines before returning to continue the evening.
It was another simple way to make the most of our surroundings and add something different to a traditional business networking event.
Networking With A Difference
As always, the networking itself remained completely unstructured. There were no forced introductions or rigid networking sessions – simply plenty of opportunities to talk, meet people from different industries and build connections naturally.
With around 25 guests attending, the evening had an intimate and sociable feel, with wine, charcuterie and the setting at Balfour providing plenty of opportunities for conversation.
Ultimately, that is what Networking With A Difference is all about: bringing people together at some of Kent’s most interesting venues and creating experiences where business relationships can develop in a more relaxed environment.
A Final Thank You
A big thank you to Barry and everyone at Balfour Winery for welcoming us and hosting the evening, and most importantly, thank you to everyone who joined us. The combination of wine, food and good company made it another thoroughly enjoyable evening of networking in Kent.
