Greeting Our Guests

Networking With A Difference returned in July with a fantastic afternoon at the beautiful Hempstead House Hotel & Spa, bringing together local businesses for an event filled with networking, baking and memorable experiences. Set within the hotel's stunning grounds, guests enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere where conversations flowed naturally while taking part in activities designed to bring people together.

Guests were welcomed by Nick McGowan from What's On in Kent and Mike Wood from Hempstead House Hotel, who introduced the venue and highlighted everything the hotel has to offer. Renowned for its exceptional hospitality, friendly and professional team, and picturesque surroundings, Hempstead House provided the perfect backdrop for another enjoyable Networking With A Difference event.

Friendly Competition

Throughout the afternoon, guests were treated to teas, coffees and a selection of wines kindly provided by our event sponsor, Balfour Winery. The relaxed setting encouraged attendees to catch up with familiar faces, meet new contacts and strengthen business relationships while enjoying the hotel's warm hospitality.

One of the highlights of the event was a lively scone-making competition led by Hempstead House Hotel's talented chefs.
Guests rolled up their sleeves to test their baking skills before their creations were judged, with the lucky winner taking home a prize of a three-course dinner at the hotel.

The competition created plenty of laughter and friendly rivalry, making it a real talking point throughout the afternoon.

Fresh Air, Fresh Perspectives

Adding another unique element to the event, Claire Bates from Tilia Yoga & Nature led an engaging plant identification session around the hotel grounds. Claire shared her knowledge of local plants and their uses, offering guests a fascinating insight into the natural environment while encouraging everyone to take a closer look at the beautiful surroundings. Later in the afternoon, Claire also spoke about the work of Tilia Yoga & Nature and the benefits of reconnecting with nature.

As always, Networking With A Difference proved that the best business conversations often happen when people are relaxed, having fun and sharing new experiences. Whether competing to bake the perfect scone, learning something new about the local landscape or simply enjoying a glass of Kent wine, there were plenty of opportunities to make new connections.

A Final Thank You

A huge thank you goes to Hempstead House Hotel for hosting such a wonderful event, especially Mike Wood, Jo Brampton and the entire team for their outstanding hospitality and for creating such an enjoyable experience. Our thanks also go to Balfour Winery for sponsoring the event and providing a wonderful selection of wines, and to Claire Bates of Tilia Yoga & Nature for delivering such an engaging and informative activity.

Finally, thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon another success. We look forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces to future Networking With A Difference events. If you're looking to meet like-minded local businesses in a relaxed, friendly setting, we'd love for you to join us at our next event.
