Welcome to West Kent Shooting School

Networking With A Difference continued in June with one of its most unique events yet, as local businesses gathered at West Kent Shooting School for a morning of networking, delicious food and the opportunity to try their hand at clay pigeon shooting.

Guests were welcomed by Nick McGowan from What's On in Kent and Gillian Dyer-Lynch from West Kent Shooting School, who introduced the venue and the activities planned for the day. Set within beautiful Kent countryside, the shooting school offered the perfect environment for relaxed networking, with experienced instructors, excellent facilities and a warm welcome for everyone attending.

Networking Over Food and Wine

Guests were divided into small groups and introduced to four different clay pigeon shooting challenges. With an instructor at each stand, we were shown how to hold the rifle, aim, and (try to!) track a moving target. It wasn’t easy, but the mix of concentration and laughter made the whole experience hugely enjoyable and the buzz every time someone hit a clay was simply fantastic!

Taking Aim

One of the highlights of the day was, without doubt, the clay pigeon shooting experience. Under the guidance of West Kent Shooting School's experienced instructors, each guest received expert tuition before stepping up to take ten shots at the flying targets. For many, it was their first time handling a shotgun, but with plenty of encouragement and expert advice, there were some impressive scores and plenty of successful hits throughout the morning.

A Networking Event Like No Other

The activity quickly became a fantastic conversation starter, with guests cheering each other on, celebrating successful shots and enjoying a little friendly competition along the way. It's not every day that a business networking event gives you the chance to try clay pigeon shooting, and it perfectly demonstrated what makes Networking With A Difference stand out from traditional networking events.

A Well-Earned Lunch

Following the shooting, everyone came together to enjoy an outstanding buffet lunch prepared by the team at West Kent Shooting School. Guests tucked into a delicious selection of deli favourites, tartlets, Quorn chilli with garlic bread, samosas, pittas and houmous, sandwiches, olives and much more, providing the perfect opportunity to continue conversations and strengthen new business connections.

Looking Ahead

As always, the event proved that the best networking often happens when people step outside their comfort zones, share a memorable experience and enjoy themselves in a relaxed setting. From first-time shooters hitting their targets to conversations continuing over lunch, the morning was filled with laughter, encouragement and new opportunities.

A huge thank you goes to Gillian Dyer-Lynch and everyone at West Kent Shooting School for hosting such a fantastic event and making every guest feel welcome. Thank you also to Balfour Winery for sponsoring the event and providing a wonderful selection of wines, and to Nick Skinner from What's On in Kent for capturing the day's highlights through his photography.

Finally, thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event another great success. We look forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces to future Networking With A Difference events. If you're looking to grow your network, enjoy unique experiences and discover that business networking doesn't have to be ordinary, we'd love to see you at our next event.
