Hypo Hounds is a small but life-changing charity dedicated to training specialist assistance dogs that can detect the subtle scent changes linked to dangerous blood sugar highs and lows in people living with Type 1 diabetes.

For those who depend on them, these incredible dogs are not just companions — they are life-savers, providing early warnings that give their owners precious time to act before a hypoglycaemic or hyperglycaemic episode becomes critical.

This support offers independence, safety, and peace of mind not only for the individual but also for their families.

Training a hypohound is an intensive and costly process, with each dog requiring thousands of pounds in specialist training, ongoing support, and care to ensure they are able to perform their vital role.

Unlike larger charities, Hypo Hounds does not receive government funding and relies entirely on the generosity of the public, local communities, and corporate partners to continue this vital work.

This special Black Tie Emergency Fundraising Evening has been created to raise £35,000 towards our annual running costs.

Every ticket sold, every raffle entered, and every auction bid placed on the night will directly support the training and placement of more of these life-saving dogs.

With your help, we can ensure that more people living with Type 1 diabetes have the chance to live safer, fuller, and more confident lives — supported every step of the way by their loyal hypohound.
